Australia national team shot stopper Mat Ryan was on the bench for the entire duration of the Europa League clash between Real Sociedad and French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco on Thursday. In the Group B encounter, Alex Remiro was preferred to the Australia international in the Real Sociedad goal.
Ryan has made just one appearance since joining Spanish La Liga side Real Sociedad during this summer’s transfer window. The experienced shot stopper had earlier spent the second half of last season on loan at North London club Arsenal while he was still a Brighton and Hove Albion player.
