Australia national team shot stopper Mat Ryan has revealed the reason behind his exit from Arsenal this summer. The Australian goalkeeper left the Gunners earlier this summer when his loan contract at the club ran out.

Ryan spoke about Arsenal and his exit during an exclusive interview with James Dodd of Fox Sports. According to him, he was not a priority for Arsenal officials in the quest to strengthen the team for the new campaign. Australia goalkeeper Ryan said he gets the sense that the Gunners are looking for someone that will qualify as an homegrown player.
