OSIECK WANTS MORE PLAYERS

by isport

The Australian national team manager Holger Osieck has said that he will have a larger pool of players to select from after the friendly match against South Korea this week.

The Socceroos manager has said that he will be calling up a number of players from the A-League for this match, which will give him the opportunity to pick from a wider pool of players. He has said that there are a number of promising players in this league who are yet to feature for the national team. It has been a good run of matches for the national team after they have won the important matches against Lebanon and Iraq.

Even though they lost in the World Cup qualifying match against Jordan 2-1, Holger Osieck is looking at the positives before the next round of qualification matches resume in March. Australia will be playing in this friendly match, which will be the last before they take on Hong Kong in a competitive fixture. Holger Osieck has said that he wants to have a larger group of players before the match against Hong Kong. He has said that he has seen the players perform at the domestic level and now it is time for them to show that they can perform at international level as well.

"It's another opportunity for me to enlarge the group. It's going to be mainly A-League players, so now the guys who perform on the domestic level here have to show how far they are ready to be on the international level. When we play North Korea, maybe even Hong Kong, they are strong teams. So we'll get an idea of how ready they are to step up and be regular members of the Socceroos," said the Australian manager, who is looking to qualify for the World Cup.
