WHAT UNITED'S MIDFIELDER HUNT COULD MEAN FOR MATIC

by content

Following reports that Manchester United are interested in signing a midfielder this summer, it could only mean one thing for Nemanja Matic - a highly possible exit. The Serbian midfielder is a strong contender for a likely exit from Old Trafford already and the likelihood of him leaving will be even more triggered with the arrival of another midfielder. United manager Olé Gunnar Solksjær has insisted that the club are now aiming to go all out for every possible trophy out there and they have also shown how serious they are following their recent transfer businesses.

After already announcing the signings of Jadon Sancho from German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund and defender Raphael Varane from Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid this summer, there are high hopes already around Old Trafford as they are expected to mount a major title challenge next season. According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, United will now look to sign a midfielder after capturing a winger and a central defender already.

The likes of Eduardo Camavinga (Rennes), Saul Niguez (Atlético Madrid), and Leon Goretzka (Bayern Munich) have been touted as the likely players that will be moving to Old Trafford and it is highly certain that if they are able to complete a deal for any of these midfield stars, Matic would be the go-to player to be asked to leave the club.

Matic has been linked with a move to Australia in recent times but there is yet to be a strong offer for him from there. While the interest is still gathering pace, United are open to selling him this summer if any reasonable bid comes their way. That way, they would be able to go all out and try to sign a replacement for the former Chelsea star.
